Why we built it

I needed to see it, not just feel it.

I was in a difficult relationship that lasted a few years. At the beginning it was amazing, the kind of beginning that makes you certain. But over time things began to degrade, and problems started to arise between us that we could not seem to solve. We tried therapy, and that was difficult in its own way. Sitting in a room trying to explain what had gone wrong, I found I could never hold the whole picture in my head at once. The problems were real, but in the moment they were slippery. I would remember one thing and forget five others, or second guess whether something had even been as bad as it felt.

So I started journaling. Not to build a case, at least not at first. I just wanted to keep my own thoughts coherent and together, a place to put things down so they would stop rattling around in my mind.

Over time the list grew, and eventually it became obvious that the list of problems was extremely long. A lot of negative things had happened, more than I had let myself see when I was only carrying them in memory. Seeing it written out changed something. The record made it real in a way that feelings alone never could, and it eventually became the tool I used to justify my split from my partner.

But there was something else I noticed once it was all written down. Not every problem carried the same weight. When everything lives in your head it all blurs together and feels equally heavy, but on paper the pattern was clear. A few things mattered far more than the rest, and those were the things that had really been causing the most trouble. I kept thinking about that afterward. If I had seen that pattern earlier, clearly, while there was still time to act on it, maybe I would have known where to put my energy instead of feeling generally overwhelmed.

That experience is why I am building this. I wanted a more structured way to monitor a relationship's health, something better than a scattered journal and a memory that softens the hard parts. Something that does not just collect problems, but helps you see which ones matter most, so you can focus on making real progress on the things that count. Something you can bring into therapy, that gives you an honest record of what has actually been happening, so the story can be told fully and completely. Because when things are unclear, being able to look back at what was really going on, and to know where to aim, is one of the most honest tools a person can have.

How it works

One minute a day. That's the whole commitment.

Four things it does. Nothing you have to keep up with.

01 The daily check-in

Answer with your thumb, not a number.

Each evening you get one plain question: "Did you feel understood today?" Drag anywhere on the screen and a face follows your thumb, frown to smile. It's faster than picking a rating, and far more honest.

Add a tag or a sentence if you want to. Both optional, always.

How I'm feeling
02 Log a moment

Mark what happened, while it's fresh.

Time together, a good conversation, closeness, a fight. One tap on a plain tile, then the same face. Six categories, or just "how I'm feeling."

The tiles never show trends or colours, so nothing nudges you toward an answer before you've given one.

03 The timeline

Three years, side by side at last.

Warm days rise in peach, heavy days fall in blue. Never red and green, because you're not being graded. Life events sit right on the day they happened, so cause and feeling finally line up.

Tap any day to read back exactly what you wrote.

04 Read it back

Your own words, in your own hand.

Entries are set in a book serif, not a data table, because the point is to re-read them months later and notice what you couldn't feel at the time.

Now and then the app quietly resurfaces one. Never a demand, never a streak.

Privacy

Built for the worst-case reader.

This is the most sensitive thing on your phone. We treat it that way: the lock comes before the first question, not in a settings menu.

Locked from the start
Face ID or a PIN is set up before you write anything. Auto-locks the moment you leave.
Discreet mode
Appears on your home screen as "Notes", with a plain icon. Nothing gives it away.
Silent notifications
Reminders never show the question. Your lock screen says nothing about your relationship.
We can't read it
Entries are encrypted on your device. We can't read them, nothing is sold, and there's no partner "invite".
